George brought decades of concrete and kerbing knowledge to the business. He began working with his family company, Powell & Sons Limited, in 1962, when kerb and channel construction was predominantly hand-boxed alongside the construction of concrete footpaths. In 1970, the company purchased its first kerb machine, becoming an early adopter of machine-extruded kerbing in the greater Wellington region. Lance Thomson joined Kerbwell in 2000, straight from high school. Over the years, Lance developed extensive hands-on knowledge of extruded kerb construction, learning the trade through practical experience on site. His strong work ethic, technical knowledge and eye for detail saw him progress through the business, becoming Manager in 2007. In late 2013, Lance and his wife Lisa Thomson purchased the company from the late George Powell, proudly continuing the Kerbwell name and building on the knowledge, experience and workmanship established before them. Today, Kerbwell combines decades of industry knowledge with modern specialist kerbing machinery and an experienced team.
